"It's one thing to be legendary, but it's another to be culturally relevant we want both."
As a legendary crew whose had the biggest publications cover their music, one would think it's no big deal to have one more do so. But as news broke that the acclaimed Afro Punk brand reviewed the groups slamming new album, "This Was Never Home" the band practically did a back flip. So I had to ask this two time Grammy award winning outfit....WHY?
Speech said, "It's simple, they have a progressive pulse on entertainment that's hot and challenging and we want our NEW music to be a part of that discussion. It's one thing to be legendary, but it's another to be culturally relevant, we want both."
This Was Never Home challenges many social issues of today that most artist won't dare touch and they do it in a way that keeps that focus on music and melody and not preaching.
